In mathematical terminology a space-filling curve is a fractal line which is drawn over a plane using an iterative algorithm. At one iteration (n=1) the line traces a very simple path across the
plane, covering very little of the surface. Each successive iteration contorts and lengthens the line so as to cover more and more of the surface. At infinite iterations the line would be infinitely
long and would completely fill every point of the two dimensional plane. For this etching I traced out the space-filling curve at eight iterations to give a sense of the increasing complexity and intricacy of the mathematical form. Variations in pressure, temperature, and thickness of the wax resist create the variation in line weight and value.
